Silent Lucidity Gig - Rehearsal with Bella

Silent Lucidity Gig - Rehearsal with Bella

Happy Monday! I wanted to share with you an upcoming project and some of the work I did over the weekend on it. I have been hired by a man to perform at his wife's 50th birthday party. Her favorite song is Silent Lucidity by Queensrÿche as apparently, it has personal meaning for her.

His vision for the piece is a "ballet-style" piece that is a journey from child to adult, bad to good, ominous to happiness, pain to peace.

The first thing I needed to do was find a child! Andy (my husband) is a 5th grade teacher and actually has a student in his class - Bella - that I have taught before at a dance studio I teach at occasionally. We know her parents so I sent her a message asking if Bella would be interested. She was!

So here is Bella and I's first rehearsal. In the final piece, Bella will begin and dance the first 2 minutes 46 seconds as a solo, then I will come in and do a solo for the remainder of the song.

More on this as it shapes up, but for now, enjoy the first step in our creative process.
