Interim Program Director - 2015

Assisted 20 year old organization through major transition after losing their space. Played lead role in finding a new space, including conducting site searches, researching building codes, zoning and permitting, and negotiating lease. Created and implemented an expanded education program including selection of teaching artists, writing contracts, and updating online registration software. Collaborated with a development consultant on increasing earned revenue streams and increasing individual donor base. Worked closely with George Thorn of RACC's Cultural Leadership Program to enhance board function, improve business practices and strengthen company culture.

Research changing ecology of philanthropy and strategize pertinent development plan; examine effective methods for reaching a younger demographic, develop connections and interact with new networks. Receive, record and respond to individual donations; compose correspondence; prepare reports on major donors. Research corporate sponsorship opportunities; write proposals; assemble sponsorship informational packet. Create specialized databases for all income categories; maintain calendar of deadlines, meetings, progress of proposals, donor dinners. Conducted survey for National Endowment for the Arts pilot project; assist in determining best survey methodology, organize volunteers, coordinate response enhancement measures, administer survey at five White Bird performances, submit reports.

Develop curriculum and evaluation techniques; create and manage class schedule; recruit, select and supervise teachers; review, analyze and manage education department progress reports. Implemented online class registration software (MindBody); update website content and graphics (using WordPress); provide customer service including service delivery and problem solving; organize effective safety
training and assure all teachers and students meet safety standards.

Research grant opportunities, prepare, write and submit grant applications and proposals including company program and financial information; plan and conduct fundraising activities and events; serve as marketing consultant creating promotional materials and strategies and conducting public relations;
coordinate dance company calendar and venue booking; serve as volunteer coordinator including recruitment, selection and training.

Education and Community Outreach 2006-2007

Developed instructional programming/curriculum for educational workshops, residencies and interactive school performances that targeted students K-12 in the Los Angeles area to generate a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art of dance. Training focused on developing teamwork and
collaborative skills, encouraging creative thinking and was designed specifically to enhance student’s understanding of history, social studies, sciences, math and the language arts.

Teaching Artist/Pilates/Yoga Instruction

Served as a teaching artist in public schools and through under-served youth organizations. Lessons in dance focused on trust, teamwork and individual expression.  Designed and implemented programming including progression of content, skills, meaningful tasks, outcomes and criteria assessment.  Taught Pilates, yoga, dance and aerial in Los Angeles, Paris France and Portland. Tailored classes for diverse students at various skill levels. Shaped private lessons to meet individual’s specific athletic goals, dealing with injury or looking to improve overall health and wellbeing. Served as a knowledge resource in nutrition, injury care and prevention as well as specific exercise techniques.
